Maidu Regional Park offers a variety of recreational activities for all ages. Sports fields, tennis and basketball courts, picnic areas, a sports complex, walking, and cycling trails, and playgrounds are all featured, as well as a jogging track. The park also has a few other attractions, such as an amphitheater and a lake that provides great fishing and swimming opportunities. The park has several trails, ranging from easy to difficult, ranging from two miles to fourteen miles. These trails are great for walking, running, biking, or riding horses. There are also winding paths with shady spots for picnics or rest stops. Birds and other wildlife can often be seen along the trails, making for a nice break from the monotony of the trails. For those who wish to learn more about the area, the Maidu Interpretive Center offers informative and engaging exhibits which are pertinent to instruction on the Maidu Tribe of California’s history and culture.
